Baked Fennel with Parmesan :Creamy & Cheesy!

Parmesan-Baked Fennel a perfect side dish or main course very fast and with very few ingredients. It is simply fennel with parmesan cheese and provolone cheese on top which gives it a really delicious taste. In this case just like with Crispy Fennel or Fennel Gratin they should not be blanched first so they will be even faster. If you don’t have time or always make Fennel Salad then this recipe is the one.

Ingredients :

  • 600g (21 oz or about 2 large) fennel bulbs
  • 30g (1/3 cup) freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 100g (1 cup) provola cheese, grated (see note)
  • Breadcrumbs, as needed
  • Extra virgin olive oil, as needed
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

How to make Parmesan-Baked Fennel:

  1. We take the fennels, clean them and remove the top stubble. We cut the fennel into slices that are not too thick.
  2. In a baking dish we add a drizzle of oil and some parmesan cheese, arrange ile fennel slices on top. We can choose either a round or square baking dish, and we should not overlap the fennel too much.
  3. We add the grated provolone cheese on top, a sprinkling of breadcrumbs and bake at 200°C  (390°F) ventilated for 20 minutes. Once they are ready let’s serve and enjoy them, you will see the fennels with Parmesan cheese will please the whole family.
