Today’s recipe is amazing: only 3 ingredients to make these delicious Carnival Nutella Ravioli. Basically like stuffed Carnival Fritters, with a soft Nutella filling. Fried or baked, you can choose the cooking. Either way, they are super yummy! A Carnival recipe that will be much appreciated especially by the little ones, who love Nutella.
Ingredients
- 200 g (1 ½ cups) all-purpose flour
- 125 ml (½ cup) sweetened plant-based cream (or substitute with regular sweetened cream)
- 150 g (½ cup) Nutella
- Grated zest of 1 lemon
- A pinch of salt
Additional Ingredients
- Peanut oil (or any neutral frying oil), for frying
- Powdered sugar or cocoa powder, for dusting
How to make Carnival Nutella Ravioli:
- In a bowl, add the flour, then slowly pour in the cream and mix. I used pre-sweetened plant-based cream, but regular sweetened cream works too.
- Add the grated zest of a lemon for a hint of freshness and aroma, along with a pinch of salt.
- Form the dough into a loaf on a floured countertop, wrap it in a cloth, and let it rest for about 1 hour.
- After resting, place the loaf on a floured board. Divide it into two portions and roll them out with a rolling pin, forming two sheets that are fairly thin but not too thin. If needed, you can use a pasta machine to roll out the sheets.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of Nutella on one sheet, spacing the dollops about 3 cm apart. Then, cover with the second sheet of dough, similar to how you would prepare ravioli.
- Cut out the ravioli using a pastry wheel. At this point, you can choose to either fry or bake them.
To Fry:
- Heat the oil in a pan. When bubbles rise to the surface, fry the ravioli until golden brown on both sides.
- Remove them from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain.
- Once completely cool, dust generously with powdered sugar and serve.
To Bake:
- Place the ravioli on a baking sheet and bake at 190°C (375°F) for about 20 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let cool, and sprinkle with powdered sugar and cocoa before serving.
Bon Appetit!
