Have You Tried Farmer’s Schnitzel? We present to you a recipe for rustic schnitzel that is not only cheap, but also extremely tasty and nourishing. Using common ingredients such as onions, eggs and semolina, you can prepare a delicious meal that will fill the whole family.
Ingredients :
- 500g /3 onions
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons semolina flour
- 2 cloves of garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 400ml (1 2/3 cups) tomato sauce

Preparation:
- Preparation of the onion mixture: Cut the onion into very small pieces. In a large bowl, mix the onion, egg, semolina, crushed garlic, salt and pepper. For a more intense flavor, you can add a tablespoon of soy sauce. Let the mixture rest for 10-15 minutes to allow the semolina to “puff up”.
- Shape and fry the cutlets. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the cutlets on both sides until golden brown.
- Stewing: Transfer the fried fillets to another pan and pour the tomato sauce over them. Simmer over a low heat for approximately half an hour until the cutlets are tender and the sauce has reduced a little.
- Serve the steaks with your favourite side dish, such as boiled potatoes, rice or pasta.
