Homemade Donuts in air fryer, soft and yummy in my blog you will also find the classic recipe for fluffy potato doughnuts or creamy fried staples. This recipe is a perfect variation! They are butterless and super fluffy, definitely even less greasy, and best of all no odors in the house, you can also bake them in the oven if you prefer. You can also stuff them once baked with creams and jams.
Ingredients:
- 250 g (2 cups) type 0 flour (plus extra for dusting)
- 1 egg
- 5 g (1 ½ tsp) dry yeast
- 50 g (¼ cup) sugar (plus extra for decorating)
- 1 vanilla bean (or 1 tsp vanilla extract)
- 30 g (2 tbsp) neutral oil (e.g., sunflower or vegetable oil)
- 100 ml (⅓ cup + 1 tbsp) milk (plus extra for brushing)
- 1 packet (about 2 tsp) vanilla sugar
How to make Homemade Donuts in air fryer :
- Pour the flour, baking powder, sugar, grated orange zest (optional) and vanillin into a bowl (you can also knead with a planetary mixer)
- Next, add the egg and pour in the warm milk and oil, mix well for 5 minutes and form into a ball.
- Then let rise in a bowl covered with plastic wrap for at least 2 hours in the oven with the light off. (It should double in volume).
- After the resting time has elapsed, roll out a disk about 3 cm thick with a pastry cutter cut out circles and make a small hole in the center with a piping nozzle of a sacca poche or a bottle cap.
- Then arrange the doughnuts on a baking sheet with their own piece of parchment paper baking paper and let rise, 30 minutes in the oven turned off with the light on.
- Transfer the doughnuts to the air fryer and bake at 170°C (340 °F)for about 12 minutes.
- One minute before the end of cooking, check the donuts for browning, making sure they are not overcooked.
- Take them out of the oven and brush them with a little warm milk, roll them in caster sugar or powdered sugar.
