Quick and mouthwatering: Chocolate Puffed Rice Slice is a dessert that can be made with just four ingredients and will delight everyone, young and old.

To make them all you need to do is melt some milk chocolate (also vegan chocolate) in a double boiler, add it to the puffed rice, spread it on a sheet of baking paper and sprinkle it with hazelnut spread (if you follow a plant-based diet, here is my version of vegan hazelnut spread), top with some hazelnut crumbs, roll it up and…you’re done! Clearly you can also use other puffed grains such as spelt or buckwheat.

Ingredients

  • 250 g (9 oz) milk chocolate
  • 100 g (3.5 oz) puffed rice
  • Hazelnut spread (like Nutella)
  • Chopped hazelnuts (for topping)

How to make Mouthwatering Chocolate Puffed Rice Slice:

  1. Melt the chocolate in a double boiler, stirring until smooth and taking care not to let in any water.
  2. Pour the melted chocolate into a bowl with the puffed rice and mix well. Spread the mixture on a sheet of baking paper, forming a compact and even rectangle, helping yourself with another sheet to press it gently and get a layer that is not too thin.
  3. Warm the spreadable cream slightly to make it more fluid and spread it over the puffed rice base. Sprinkle with chopped hazelnuts, then roll gently from the long side, helping yourself with the baking paper. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. When the roll has firmed up, cut it into slices of about 2 cm to make the turnovers. If you want to make them even yummier, brush each swirl with a little cream spread.

Bon Appetit!
