Quick air Fryer Fritters are really fast carnival treats and for those who have this appliance they are really quick and convenient. The dough is similar to that of Ciambelle so leavened but if you don’t feel like or have time then you can substitute fresh brewer’s yeast with cake yeast and you won’t have to wait even a minute to fry them. Ingredients:
- 350g (2 3/4 cups) plain flour / all-purpose flour
- 50g (3 1/2 tablespoons) unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 50g (1/4 cup) caster sugar / granulated sugar
- 100ml (1/3 cup) whole milk
- 1 large egg
- Zest of 1/2 lemon
- 15g (1/2 oz) fresh yeast or 7g (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
- Pinch of salt
- Vegetable oil for frying, as needed
How to make Quick air Fryer Fritters:
Let’s prepare The Dough
- We put the sugar and lemon zest in the mug, operate at Speed 10 for 30 sec.
- We will get a very fragrant lemon sugar.
- We add the butter, flour, brewer’s yeast, milk and set to Speed 5 for 30 sec.
- We combine the egg and 1 pinch of salt.
- We set to Spike Speed for 2 Minutes.
- Let’s put the dough on the pastry board and knead it a few seconds then place it in a bowl covered with plastic wrap.
- Let it rise for 2 hours until doubled.
Let’s form the fritters and fry them:
- Once the dough is ready let’s take it and divide it into about 30-40 g balls.
- Let’s heat the oil to 160°C (320°F), trying never to let the temperature rise.Let’s lightly crush the balls and dip them in the hot oil.
- Let them brown on all sides and while still hot roll them in granulated sugar.
- Let’s serve and enjoy them.
Baking in the Oven
- Let’s place the balls on a baking sheet covered with baking paper and let them rise covered with plastic wrap for 30 minutes.
- Let’s crush them lightly, brush them with a beaten egg and bake at 180°C (355°F) static or 170°C (340°F) ventilated for about 15,20 minutes.
- Let’s take them out of the oven and serve them with a dusting of sugar on top.
