Soft milk brioche is the ideal dessert for a mouth-watering breakfast or snack. The milk and sesame seeds give this recipe an unmistakable aroma, which makes it great to eat even as it is, plain. Preparing it requires the patience to wait for the dough to rest and rise, while shaping it is easier than you might think.
Ingredients :
- 380g (3 cups) plain flour
- 150ml (⅔ cup) lukewarm milk
- 50g (¼ cup) caster sugar (granulated sugar)
- 40ml (2¾ tablespoons) vegetable oil
- 40g (3 tablespoons) unsalted butter, softened
- 20g (2½ tablespoons) cornflour (cornstarch)
- 7g (1¼ teaspoons) salt
- 7g (2¼ teaspoons) active dry yeast
- 1 large egg
- Melted butter, as needed for brushing
- Sesame seeds, to taste
How to make soft Milk Brioche:
- Combine the flour with the cornstarch, salt, and baking powder.
- Add butter, milk, oil, eggs, and sugar and knead until smooth and firm.
- Let it rise for 1 hour.
- Divide the dough into balls and crush them with your hands into disks.
Bread half of the discs in melted butter and sesame seeds. - Arrange them alternately around the circular mold and let rest for 1 hour.
- Brush beaten egg over the dough and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes.
