When Apple Met Panettone: A Cake’s Delicious Transformation…
If you like apples and, perhaps you do not even despise the particular aftertaste left by rum, then there is no doubt whatsoever that you absolutely must try this mouth-watering recipe. Because the creamy cake of panettone and rum is a dessert as simple as it is delicious, which, among other things, will also allow you to recover in an alternative way the classic Christmas cake left over after the holidays.
Ingredients :
- ½ cups (350ml) milk
- 4 cups panettone, cubed
- 1 medium apple, peeled and diced
- 3 large eggs
- ¼ cup stevia sweetener OR ½ cup granulated sugar or brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon rum
- 1 lemon, juice and zested
- Butter, for greasing
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
How to prepare a Creamy Panettone and Apple Cake:
- First take the panettone, check if it has the icing and remove it, after which cut it into small slices.
- Now peel the apples and cut them into slices, then to prevent them from blackening, drizzle them with lemon juice.
- Whisk the eggs with a pinch of salt and sweetener and add the grated lemon peel, rum the slices of panettone and milk.
- After that use electric whisks to mix everything together. Next add the apples and mix the mixture well.
- Pour the mixture onto the cake base and level with a spoon. Finally put to bake inside the oven for 30 minutes at a temperature of 180°C (340°F), taking care to set the fan mode for the last 5 minutes.
- Once the cake is ready take it out of the oven, then garnish it with powdered sugar if you like and bring it to the table.
