Christmas tree sandwiches are tasty and scenic sandwiches perfect for the Christmas Holidays.
Super easy to make and tasty, they are perfect to enhance a party buffet, to accompany an aperitif or as an appetizer for the Holidays.
Ingredients :
- 4 slices of white sandwich bread (rectangular)
- 80 g / 9 oz canned tuna in oil, drained
- 40 g / 1.5 oz cream cheese
- 40 g / 1.5 oz green olives (pitted)
- Freshly squeezed lemon juice (a few drops)
- Pink peppercorns, for garnish
How to make Christmas tree sandwiches:
- Drain the tuna from its preserving oil.
- Place it in a blender with the spreadable cheese, a few drops of lemon juice and the pitted green olives, keeping a few aside for decoration.
- Operate the machine until the mixture is smooth.
- Place the slices of sandwich bread on a work surface and flatten them slightly with a rolling pin.
- With an 8-cm round cookie cutter, cut out three disks for each slice.
- Cut out the middle half of the disks with a small Christmas-themed cookie cutter (like a tree, star, or whatever you prefer).
- Spread the prepared cream on the whole disks and top with one of the disks pierced with the Christmas cookie cutter.
- Coarsely chop the olives kept aside and arrange them on the cream filling left uncovered by the bread cutout.
- Complete the decoration with a few pink peppercorns.
- If you are not serving them right away, place your Christmas ball sandwiches on a plate, cover the plate tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
