Ingredients:

  • 5 walnuts
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 100g (3.5 oz) cream cheese (Philadelphia)
  • Salt, to taste
  • 6 slices of speck
  • Extra virgin olive oil, to taste
  • Honey, to taste

How to prepare Crostini with Creamy Cheese:

  1. Shell the walnuts, keep aside 6 whole halves that will be used later to add to the crostini, the others chop them finely with a knife or a food processor. Pour the cream cheese into a bowl, add the salt, the extra virgin oil, and the chopped walnut kernels, mix well.
  2. Cut the bread into slices and toast it, spread the cream cheese and walnut spread.
  3. Arrange the croutons on a plate, add a slice of speck on top of each slice of bread, and half a walnut kernel.
  4. Finish by adding honey on top from each slice of bread. Serve the Philadelphia and speck and walnut croutons or keep them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
