Ingredients:
For the Filling:
- 2 apples
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- Cinnamon, to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 1 tablespoon apricot jam
For the Dough:
- 1 egg
- Zest of 1 orange
- Pinch of salt
- 60g sugar
- 60g butter
- 2 tablespoons orange juice
- 240g all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
For Decoration and Sprinkling:
- Powdered sugar
How to make Apple Crumble Cake :
- Filling: Cut the peeled apples finely, drizzle them with lemon juice, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, then add butter – simmer over low heat until tender.
- Next, add the apricot jam – stir and simmer for a few minutes and let cool.
- The batter: Mix the eggs with the orange zest, salt and sugar – beat the mixture until smooth, then add the butter – mix, add the orange juice – mix.
- Next, add the sifted flour and baking powder a little at a time and work into a soft and smooth dough.
- Then divide the dough into 2 parts and roll out 1 part on parchment paper into a rectangle, and refrigerate the other part for 30 minutes.
- Spread the apple jam filling over 1 part of the dough and sprinkle with the shredded dough you had in the freezer.
- Bake in a preheated oven for about 20 minutes at 180 °C (355°F).
- After baking, sprinkle it with icing sugar and serve it with love and joy.
