Quick Savory Tart also perfect for a tasty last-minute Appetizer and perfect as a fridge-emptying recipe. It is a simple rectangular puff pastry (but you can also use a round one) with raised edges and a filling made with provolone cheese, cherry tomatoes, mortadella and olives. It conquers every bite and you can have it in a thousand versions depending on the ingredients to recycle in the fridge.
Ingredients :
- 1 roll of puff pastry (store-bought or homemade)
- 100 g (3.5 oz) cherry tomatoes
- 50 g (1.8 oz) green olives
- 150 g (5.3 oz) provola cheese (or substitute with mozzarella or provolone)
- 100 g (3.5 oz) mortadella (or substitute with ham or salami)
- Oregano, to taste
How to make Quick Savory Tart:
- We unroll the puff pastry on the pastry board and cut the perimeter of the pastry into strips of about 1 cm.
- We brush the puff pastry and overlap the strips on the inside to form a frame
- We pierce the pastry and add sliced provola, cherry tomatoes, olives, diced mortadella and a sprinkling of oregano inside
- We bake at 200° C (400c°F) for 20-25 minutes, letting the surface brown slightly. Once ready, let’s take it out of the oven and serve it stringy.
